Professional Circumcisions for Older Boys and Teenagers

For older boys, our clinic offers the best possible service for them and their accompanying families.

Our large premises offer plenty of room to accommodate all family members, and our experienced staff are on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

The procedure offered depends on the age and maturity of your son. For some boys, we strongly recommend the PlastiBell® method as the best means of circumcision.

However, for more mature boys, where the PlastiBell® is too small, the Forceps Guided procedure is used.

About the PlastiBell® Method

We use a local anaesthetic. The PlastiBell® is then placed between the glans and foreskin of the penis. The excess skin is removed and the PlastiBell® is tied off. No stitching or dressing is necessary. After three to ten days, the PlastiBell® becomes detached, leaving a clean healed cut at the tie-line.

Benefits of PlastiBell®

The operation itself normally takes about 15 minutes and boys can expect to leave The Circumcision Centre in around one hour. The PlastiBell® procedure is virtually pain-free because it is carried out under local anaesthetic and does away with the stitching, dressing and stitch removal normally required by other methods.

After-care is usually limited to salt water bathing. Post-operation trauma is minimal, and over 95% of patients have no need for a return visit to The Circumcision Centre after the procedure.

About the Forceps Guided Method

A pre-operative consultation will be required, which can be arranged for the same day as the operation.

This method starts with a local anaesthetic. Forceps are then attached to the foreskin to guide the cut, after which some stitching is necessary. Stitches are removed approximately one week after the operation - which can be carried out by the patient himself with little discomfort.

In our clinic the Forceps Guided procedure takes only a short time for maximum convenience. Discomfort is minimised by the use of a local anaesthetic. Self-removal of stitches can eliminate the need for a return visit or Doctors appointment.
